Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE)

Founded in 1967, the National Institute for Social Work's (NISW) reign came to an end in July 2002. To continue the services, work, research and traditions of NISW, the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) www.scie.org.uk was born in October 2001.

Co-Operative Systems was entrusted with providing IT support and management for 8 years and was awarded the migration project from NISW to SCIE, working in conjunction with ICL, who installed the network and the Department of Health, who provided funding.

This migration project has been a complete success with staff settling down smoothly into their new premises at London Bridge. SCIE can now pride itself in being a forerunner in IT technology, boasting a 10Mbps leased line that provides them seamless Internet access and real-time email, as well as top-of-the-range IT equipment and software.

Co-Operative Systems continue to provide Support and offer Facilities Management services three days a week. SCIE and Co-Op have developed a healthy working relationship and look forward to many more years together.

The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS)

The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) www.nadfas.org.uk has been a Co-Operative Systems client for over 10 years. We installed their original Netware network and have taken them through a further two major network upgrades.

Most recently we assisted NADFAS in selecting a CRM system (Customer Relationship Management) and then refreshed their network infrastructure to support the new software. We were particularly pleased that we were able to add value by containing the number of servers that were needed to support Email, File-and-Print services, CRM and Accountancy SQL applications, and other databases to just two efficient servers. This held down purchase costs and ongoing maintenance and power usage.

PhotoVoice

PhotoVoice logo

PhotoVoice is an award-winning international charity aiming to bring about positive social change for marginalised communities by providing them with photographic training. The only development organisation of its kind in Europe, PhotoVoice encourages the use of documentary photography via in-field photojournalism workshops to enable those who are traditionally the subjects of photography to become its creator - while simultaneously learning a new skill which can enhance their lives.
